This book, titled "A Butterfly's Life in Flowers," delves into the hidden love words of Jiang Kui from eight centuries ago. The inspiration for the title comes from Zhang Yutian's mournful words dedicated to Wang Bishan, where he mentions "a butterfly's life in flowers." Although these words were originally meant for Bishan, they seem to resonate with Jiang Kui as well. Jiang Kui's words, though limited to eighty-four, have been widely appreciated and read by many. On the other hand, Baishi's words are not found in ancient notes, possibly because they are straightforward and do not require annotation by scholars of the Ming and Qing dynasties. By reorganizing Baishi's poetry and words, we gain insights into his conduct, friendships, and love history, allowing us to uncover the stories of the four women who played significant roles in Baishi's life.
