Macau has always been influenced by maritime culture, and the innocent and inclusive atmosphere of the small city has allowed foreign cultures to blend in and coexist here. The same is true for religious culture. People from all over the world come to Macau with their own beliefs to settle here and proliferate their families. They build temples and statues here to express their spiritual beliefs. At present, there are more than 40 temples of all sizes in Macau, scattered in the residential neighborhoods. The Puji Temple, commonly known as the Kun Iam Temple, is one of the three ancient temples in Macau. It is located in the ancient Wangxia Village amid a quiet environment. The author uses a combination of text and pictures to tell the history of the Kun Iam Temple, which is an important witness and origin of Macau's historical and cultural development, to help readers understand the important position of the temple in Macau's history and culture. Chapters include "Glory", "Redemption", "I Am a Money Tree", "Mud Flood", and the movie script "Poet Yu Dafu".

This book examines the historical changes and political transformations in China since modern times through the perspective of "medical history". The angle is novel and interesting. The content involves the physical sensations among Chinese people under Western medical treatment, how individuals are placed in new social spaces, and how these arrangements are institutionalized under the coordination of relevant governance systems. Finally, it attempts to analyze how this institutionalized design was transformed into a widespread political movement at a specific moment. In summary, the main themes of the book can be summarized in the following key words: body, space, system, and social mobilization. Based on this, readers can find a new path to observe China's political changes from the perspective of medical history.

The traditional "three trades" refer to the three trades of construction -- stonemasonry, carpentry, and bamboo scaffolding. With the modernization of construction technology, plastering and painting have also become important trades included in the "three trades" in a broader sense. Research on the history of modern Hong Kong generally revolves around macro-level political and economic discussions. To understand life of the grassroots class, one needs to rely on word of mouth, but in-depth analysis is often lacking. This book takes the earliest workers in the "three trades" who came to Hong Kong to make a living in the 19th century as the research object, observes how they struggled to survive and passed down their skills in Hong Kong, how their unions were established in Hong Kong, how they gradually declined, and what their relationship was with Hong Kong's social and economic development. The development of the "three trades" unions and the experiences of the workers are a story that represents Hong Kong's growth. How traditional industries respond and adapt to Western culture is also a reflection of Hong Kong's modernization process.
