Since the spring of 2003, the SARS virus has devastated Hong Kong, claiming 299 lives and infecting 1,755 individuals. Seventeen years later, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic emerged, resulting in over 3,000 infections and nearly 100 deaths by early September 2020. This outbreak has not only strained the local medical system but has also deeply impacted people's livelihoods, the economy, and the daily lives of citizens. Globally, countries are grappling with this "disaster of the century", with the catering, tourism, and airline industries bearing the initial brunt of the economic impact. Moreover, the medical and academic communities are actively responding to and discussing this new infectious disease.
