The concept of "Junzi" in Confucianism represents the ideal standard of behaviour and is comprised of the "Five Virtues": benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and trustworthiness. From a modern management perspective, these virtues not only guide ethical conduct but also inform effective management and operations. The former Hang Seng Management College embraced this concept and integrated it with Western business ethics to establish a comprehensive business ethics standard applicable to companies in Hong Kong. The annual "Junzi Corporation Survey" project aims to identify businesses that align with these ethical standards and publishes the "HSMC Hong Kong Business Ethics Index" annually.
