Octopus parents are not monsters. Some newspapers have "monsterized" octopus parents, referring to those parents who do all sorts of crazy things, such as applying for a job at a school to get their children admitted, waiting for the principal for half a year to show sincerity, secretly following the principal to and from work, hoping to introduce their children, and so on.
Readers who usually read the "Octopus Parents" column in Ming Pao should find it inexplicable, because our goal in creating "Octopus Parents" has always been to establish a positive and proactive attitude for octopus parents: even if they are very busy, they insist on building a happy childhood for their children and growing up to be kind and useful people. The monsterization is completely different from the idea of octopus parents. We have always been strongly resisting the social trend of blindly oppressing, training, and urging children, and we hope that if parents need fellow travelers to "stand firm" with them, they will think of "Octopus Parents" and not feel lonely, and even see our words and smile involuntarily. We practice our philosophy in life, not opposing all child-rearing, and the spirit of "Octopus Parents" is to do what they think is suitable for their children and what they enjoy, without affecting the overall allocation of family resources, with objective analysis, and not blindly following the trend.--Octopus Dad Chapter 1 Give Children a Happy Childhood Chapter 2 Give Children an Elite Education Chapter 3 Give Children a Life Lesson Chapter 4 Give Children a Lovely Family Chapter 5 The Way of Education of Octopus Celebrities Qu Yingyan, Yang Tianming, Liu Weiheng, Zhu Xun...
