Hong Kong Style Painting: The People, Things, and Scenery of the 1980s

Before the 1980s, Hong Kong was simple and peaceful, where consumerism had not yet risen. Monk Shi Ben-you, born in the 1970s, reminisces about the lives of Hong Kong people through a collection of over forty unique colour drawings and dozens of short black and white comics titled ""Fok Loi Estate in 1984."" These vivid illustrations capture the essence of everyday life in the 1980s, from visiting tea houses and street playgrounds to going to theatres and living in old buildings. Each drawing represents a collective memory etched in the minds of that generation.
