Following the war, literati from the south migrated to Hong Kong, influenced by Western thought, freedom of speech, and popular education, which enriched the cultural landscape and propelled the growth of Chinese newspapers and magazines. The newspaper supplement, apart from the editorial, is revered by both the refined and the popular, serving as a significant cultural melting pot. With over forty years of experience in the news industry, mainly in the supplement, the author reflects on the evolution of newspaper supplements over the past fifty years, aiming to document the history of Hong Kong's newspaper industry.
