As I approach the sunset of old age, life's challenges have been relentless. In this phase, I contemplate the wisdom of Li Bai, who said, "Enjoy a cup of wine before life, why need a thousand years of fame after death?" I hold onto a dream, as the poet mused, that "All return to dust, return to a spring dream." Within this dream, there exists a spring breeze, carrying the pride of galloping horses. I do not need to witness every flower in Chang'an in a day; rather, I simply yearn for the affectionate embrace of the spring breeze, causing my Luo skirt to flutter.

In this story, the intended perfect ending for the lovers is overshadowed by the realities and challenges of daily life, testing their love. In the regrettable ending, I imagine creating stories where the protagonist experiences a reunion and telepathic exchanges of glances years later. As for the open ending, my mood at the time will determine the different possibilities that can unfold.

In "Dream of the Red Chamber," Liu Zaifu highlighted the profound purpose behind each writer's work - to leave a lasting sigh for the disappearance of life, a testament, a mournful song, a memorial. Similarly, ordinary individuals possess unique life experiences that are worth remembering. Derived from these living deeds, the publication of these eleven collections is a tribute to those who have influenced my life. They have ignited the ideas stored in my mind, given life to hidden characters, and brought them to existence within these lines. These collections encompass fragments of my life in the United States, special experiences, the people around me, stories, and travels.
