Because of Dad

This coming-of-age novel is written from a child's perspective about a social hero. Jin Guo, a fourth grader, initially complains about his police officer father's busy schedule. However, it's not until his father's unexpected death in the line of duty that Jin Guo begins to learn about his father's greatness from others. The sudden loss of his father leads Jin Guo through the most painful separation in his life.
