The Biography of Zhu Yuanzhang
The founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, had a magnificent and legendary life. Mr. Wu Han made a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of Zhu Yuanzhang, which made this book of extraordinary significance and value in the study of Ming history and biographical literature, and can be regarded as a model for Zhu Yuanzhang's research.
Wu Han spent 20 years before and after writing "Zhu Yuanzhang Biography" and wrote four versions. The first version was written in June 1944, entitled "Ming Taizu"; the second version was written in August 1948, and the title was changed to "Zhu Yuanzhang Biography". Wu Han once presented the manuscript of the second version of "Zhu Yuanzhang Biography" to Mao Zedong for viewing. After reading it, Mao Zedong met with Wu Han twice and wrote a letter to Wu Han with his opinions on the book. In 1954, Wu Han revised "Zhu Yuanzhang Biography" again, and Mao Zedong put forward his opinions on the revised manuscript. At that time, Wu Han had printed 100 copies of the manuscript for comments, but it was not officially published. This book is based on the 1954 manuscript.
