Gu Qu Talks
Luo Liming, a proficient opera enthusiast, holds a particular fascination for Cantonese opera and music. His well-referenced and meticulously researched writings consist of high-quality, serious opera reviews. In the 1950s, Luo serialized a series of opera-themed articles in the ""Sing Tao Evening News"" under the column name ""Gu Qu Tan,"" drawing on the allusion of ""Qu You Wu, Zhou Lang Gu."" These articles, penned from an ""expert"" perspective, covered opera, music, anecdotes, and renowned actors, offering rich and diverse content. Subsequently, he compiled some of these serialized manuscripts into the book ""Gu Qu Tan.""
This book, based on the first edition of ""Gu Qu Tan,"" incorporates Luo's preface from the original publication, re-proofreads the content, and provides simple notes for certain words and phrases to enhance readability for the convenience of readers.
