Yi Zhou Ji - A Hundred Poems and Proses by Zhou Qizi before Crossing the Sea

Zhou Xuefan, also known as Qizi (1912-1984), hailed from Daye City in Hubei Province. Gifted with natural intelligence, he pursued studies at the Hubei Provincial Academy of Classical Learning. Following his graduation, he served as the chief secretary for the provincial governments of Sichuan and Guizhou. In 1949, he embarked on a journey to Taiwan, where he held various positions, including secretary and clerk, while living in exile. Despite the challenges he faced, his poetry flourished and garnered recognition from his peers, earning him the esteemed title of Taiwan's chief poet in the 20th century. Although Zhou Qizi displayed literary talent from an early age, his early works were regrettably scattered and overlooked by researchers. In this book, the editor has diligently collected and organized Zhou's poems and prose works prior to his departure, providing a tangible account of Zhou's creative journey during his youth.
