This book is divided into three parts. The first part, "Poetry, Words, and Ambition," intervenes in social and political issues in the form of poetry. The second part, "Born Not in Water but in Fire," covers a wide range of articles and discusses topics such as the Save Diaoyu Islands Movement, Hong Kong's return, and social movements after the return. The third part, "Heaven, Earth, and the Past and Present," reflects Gu Zhao-shen's concern and reflection on the world situation, especially the future of mankind in his later years, and is his most mature insight in his life.
