Research on Different Texts and Meanings in Tang Poetry

The "Complete Tang Poems," compiled and revised by Peng Dingqiu and others in the Qing Dynasty, encompasses over 72,000 entries, with a significant portion consisting of synonymous or near-synonymous texts, representing about two-thirds of Tang poetry. It examines the semantic evolution of these texts and organizes them based on linked meanings. By uncovering the connections among originally disparate materials, it reveals the emergence of a new "Erya" dictionary that evolved during the Tang and Song Dynasties.
