Studies on the Book of Songs beyond Tradition

This book examines Wang Zhi's "Poetry General News" from the Song Dynasty, He Kai's "Poetry Classic World Ancient Meaning" from the Ming Dynasty, and Fang Yurun's "Poetry Classic Origin" from the Qing Dynasty as research cases. These three monographs on "The Book of Songs" represent distinct social trends in their respective dynasties, offering varied perspectives on the development of "The Book of Songs" over time. Despite their significant impact, these works have not received adequate attention in the past or present. By collectively discussing and re-evaluating them, a clearer understanding of the evolution of comprehensive "The Book of Songs" research since the Han Dynasty can be attained.
